Our Faculty offers exciting activities for secondary school students and the wider community.

School visits

We can arrange a time to come out to your school and talk to students in all year groups about our courses.

Our presentations cover important topics such as specific course information, admission requirements, scholarships and career prospects. These talks usually require at least 45 minutes to cover the information, as well as to allow any time for questions.

Engineering project student groupWe run regular information sessions where you can find out everything you need to know to become an engineer with UWA.

Whether you're coming to the end of your time at high school and are considering your university study options, or you already have an undergraduate degree and are looking to re-skill or complete postgraduate study, our 'Engineering information evenings' will provide you with all of the info you need to achieve an engineering career.

Girls in Engineering

GiePageGirls in Engineering (GiE) is a program delivered by The University of Western Australia (UWA) with support from Rio Tinto. The program aims to engage secondary school girls in the world of science and engineering and to inspire girls to consider engineering as a career path.

Less than 12% of the engineering workforce is composed of women. This gender imbalance means the industry is significantly underutilising of a key part of the workforce which is detrimental to economic productivity and growth
